History of Store:

Yesterday and Today Records was started in September 1977 by Skip Groff. Over the years, we became involved with many of the Washington DC punk/alternative groups, including producing many of the early Dischord bands, including Minor Threat / SOA / Teen Idles,as well as The Slickee Boys, Velvet Monkeys, The Dark, Youth Brigade and Black Market Baby. Skip also hosted a few local radio shows on such stations like WAVA, WPGC, and WINX and has worked in the music business for 40 years.

Over the years the store accumulated more than 1,000,000 45's and close to 50,000 LP's and CD's. Though we add new items to the site everyday, the Brick & Morter store closed in September 2002 ending of 25 years on Rockville Pike. Skip and Kelly Groff continue to service your vinyl needs through mail order, this web site, eBay, and local record shows.

Keep in mind that what you see on this web site is just a small sampling of what we have. There are thousands of records from the 50's and 60's, rock, pop and C & W that will never make it to this website, and 70s & 80s imports and indie 45s added daily.

Thanks for your patience, understanding and patronage over these many years,

- Skip and Kelly
